Hannah has been putting in the work to get her and her son a stable home before Christmas. And she accomplished her goal. Imagine her surprise when she walks into the housing office to handle her business and she sees Kane, her one night stand and unbeknownst to him, the father of her child.

Okay, so I love the premise of this. I love Hannah getting her life together after everything that happened in her past. I loved the way she loved on her son, and Kane's easy acceptance of them both. I loved how they looked for each other, and pined for each other. That was nice.

But this book left something to be desired in terms of the actual writing. It felt jumbled in places, rushed and some parts felt like they were being told out of order. It felt like I was being told a story, rather than experiencing a story. It needed some editing, I think. It's also closed door, which is a first for me with urban fiction, and in terms of urban fiction, the title makes you feel like some street shit might actually pop off but it doesn't so the title and cover are misleading.
