Beautifully written and the way the words describe. The locations and activities are mesmerizing yet book is sad and dreary and goes nowhere in many ways. It's depressing and the characters are constantly depressed and is much alcoholism.. and the memories of rape scene her first and last time having sex and it's overall depressing... And nothing evolves and these people are living lives where they do nothing but work and drink and repeat that. A state of ennui.
