Love, Life, and the List by Kasie West

3.0

3.5 I was worried the ending would be what it was and I didn't love that because I was kind of rooting for Elliot, but I still really liked this. It was a cute fast read, and I couldn't put it down. I was really hoping the main character Abby, wouldn't go back to Cooper, like why should that be the lesson for teens? Pine for a guy for over a year, tell him how you feel, and he thinks it's a joke because he's afraid to love, and then just wait around after he repeatedly hurts your feelings until he gets his shit together? I wanted the character to grow more than that, but I liked the depth this Kasie West book had over some of the others I've read. We got to know the mom, the grandpa, and even the dad a little, and I loved the idea of the list itself. But I really didn't want the fairytale ending for this one, but I guess I shouldn't have expected anything else with the cover photo.
