The 4.5 is for the trilogy as a whole, although I think this may be my favorite book of them, even though it really would have benefitted from another chapter or two. I would have really liked to have seen the fallout from everything. Kastor's death and how his men would have reacted to Damen, how he and Laurent would have actually united their countries, etc. Actually, honestly, I could use another book entirely.
Overall, this was a fun, if painful ride, and I am glad I finally read it the series. If you're reading a review on the third of three books, you probably already know, but like. Heed the warnings.
