Rifts & Refrains by Devney Perry

5.0

I just finished up the Hush Notes series with book 3 Muses & Melodies by Rebecca Yarros. It gets 5 stars just like book 1- Lies & Lullabies by Sarina Bowen and book 2- Rifts & Refrains by Devney Perry. I was blown away- A perfect score for this trilogy!

I wondered how it would be to read a series by 3 different authors and it worked really well! Sarina is one of my go-to authors, but Devney and Rebecca are new to me and I was so so pleased to find I enjoyed their books and writing styles.

Rifts & Refrains:
This was a second chance romance with high school sweethearts Quinn and Graham. They were meant to be- it just took them a little longer to figure it out than some of the people in their lives.

Usually I don’t like churchy books. Im the opposite of churchy, whatever that is, and I tend to roll my eyes a lot when characters are religious because I have trouble relating. This book though- I didn’t mind at all! I kinda liked that Quinn wasn’t quite who I first thought she was. It gave her depth somehow to have these 2 totally separate parts of her life.

Muses & Melodies:
Nixon was so lovable even though he didn’t know it and even though he had a tough road to get there. I loved the cake scene that showed how thoughtful and sweet he was. Zoe was strong and independent. She was determined in her work life and also her love life once she found what she couldn’t live without.

Usually in a book I end up liking one character more than the other but this time I loved Nixon and Zoe equally.
