Body Double by Tess Gerritsen
2.0
Apparently this book came about because the author told herself there is a market for crime stories that appeal to women and she was dead set on filling that gap. That in itself is not a compliment - or at least it is not meant as such. This audiobook, however, became completely unbearable because of the narrator who sounds like she makes a living reading self-help books for winy women who don't want to change anything but get coddled. If I hear the expression "she said softly" in a completely inappropriate context one more time I will scream.
Sad about this is that the underlying mystery isn't bad at all but everything around it was nothing short of painful.
