Batman Vol. 1: I Am Gotham (Rebirth) by Tom King

3.0

I think Batman is just a bit too much of a drama queen for me, honestly. Yes, it's terrible your parents died. WE GET IT ALREADY.

This volume introduced a brother & sister duo who gained superpowers by, of all things, buying them. Using their powers strips years off their lives, though. Their names? Because of their deep love of the city, he goes by the name Gotham. Her? They might as well have named her Me Too (But a Girl!!). Can you guess? Of course you can! Gotham Girl!

We can forgive the writers who took this "girl" moniker route back in the day, when they didn't know any better, but this character was created in 2017, people! STILL with the 'girl' nonsense. Even with her horrible name, she's an interesting character (she bumped the rating from a 2 to a 3). I'm undecided if she's worth reading more Batman comics, though. You have the money, Bruce. Get a therapist.
