Back to the little retirement home known as Coopers Chase, amongst our four unlikely best friends/heroes, Ibrahim, Ron, Joyce and Elizabeth, who have become involved in a high stakes case involving murder and diamonds
The first part of this book had my heart in my throat with what happened to poor Ibrahim I honestly thought we'd lost a main character within the first few chapters, which theoretically we did, as Ibrahim wasn't as present in this book as he could haven been, his attack was a perfect excuse for him to be recuperating at home for majority of the book, leaving him out of most of the action, but we carry on with our other three main characters who are all so wonderfully written they feel like a right collection of personalities and characters that I'd love to grow old and spend my last years with!
I love the way that all the sub plots and main plot came together, it is a work of fiction so a lot of the book was slightly far-fetched, but you let that go as the book is full of twists and turns and sarcasm and wit and humour and emotion, each chapter brought more depth to each character, and you can see with each book that there is more to meet the eye with each of our cast, it was wonderful for other side characters to be brought back, and happy endings may be in the cards for a few of them, but I like that this book didn't fall straight to the romance happy ever afters, I feel they are slow burners, and I'm looking forward to book three!
