This was my fourth Bridgerton novel, and I can say it was my favorite.
The chemistry between Hyacinth and Gareth is definitely a highlight - They have good banter with one another, and I think they have both rather relatable personalities. If you‘re looking for a book in this genre , definitely worth your time.

One minor thing that bothered me regarded the mystery, which I will put in spoiler-tags.
I personally think the mystery of the jewels is not all that engaging, which I think is due to the way it‘s utilized. It serves a good purpose of starting the story - but after that the importance fizzles out. As a reader, I found it heard to care for the jewels as it‘s a mystery the reader does not get to engage themselves in - clues are always just exposited. Similarly with the mystery of Gareth‘s father which dominates the second half: Pretty much: His father is not hinted at for most of the story, until one chapter before the reveal. I think that was a missed opportunity.
