The Oath of the Vayuputras by Amish Tripathi

3.0

The finale to the trilogy sets the stage and devotes the entire 2nd half to the death of Sati. Anyone who reads through the start immediately knows the end and you go through the book to see how Amish imparts his usual style to the book.

This was the 2nd best in the series and was very preachy in tone. The author tries to get into some interesting questions but ends up sounding like my moral science teacher.

There are no surprises since we have already been introduced to all the characters. The writing was quite flat although he has made a good effort on the war strategies. The ending chapters were disappointing since it seemed like he was in a hurry to tie up everything related to the legend.

He has already announced his next book on the Mahabharata in the last paragraph which many authors before him have unsuccessfully ventured into.

Read if you have nothing better to do on your weekend or just want to finish the series
