Shockaholic by Carrie Fisher
4.0
My recent exposure to Carrie Fisher has been seeing her promote the new Star Wars movies. Older, rounder and carting around a dog with a perpetually drooping tongue, Carrie appeared funny, peppy and eccentric. She's a bit like your crazy aunt who is a hoot in small quantities but gets annoying after she eats all the ham and makes too many funny but caustic comments about her ex-husband.
The Carrie Fisher in Shockaholic is more funny and sensitive than the one doing the movie junket. She has seen and lived through a lot of turmoil, being the daughter of two Hollywood icons. She chooses to tell her story with good humor. She's very kind to Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor. I enjoyed taking the journey with her.
Weird Coincidence: This is the second book I've read in the last couple months that involves someone receiving electricity to the brain.
