The Age of Magical Overthinking: Notes on Modern Irrationality by Amanda Montell

4.0

4.5 stars
This is a collection of essays exploring cognitive biases, cultural criticism, and even pop culture. Montell has an easygoing voice, making this a relaxed and comforting read. She writes in a manner that is conversational and friendly. No matter what, she backs up her info with sources and observations, which are always well-explained and thoughtful. I really enjoyed this books’s look at our mental coping mechanisms and how they influence our perceptions of the world - or maybe even our realities.
