Wherever the Wind Takes Us by Kelly Harms

4.0

My favorite thing about Kelly Harms is her ability to write about all facets of life and how she makes the reader feel like they are in the story.
42 year old Becca Larkin has given the entirety of her adult life to her 21 year old daughter and her now ex-husband. All she has to show for that is her daughter and a yacht she doesn’t want and decides to sell. With the help of a man 16 years younger, Becca faces her fears that have kept her grounded for the last 20 years and uncovers a part of herself she thought was gone forever.
Ms. Harms has a way of describing everything in a book perfectly. I felt like I was on the yacht with Becca and Grant. I have never wanted to sail before, in fact, the idea of it scares me terribly, but after seeing how Becca grew as a person and a sailor, I would actually consider it.
The combination of humor, conflict, heat, and grace that Ms. Harms incorporates into her books makes them some of the most real reads you’ll ever read.
