the premise was EVERYTHING I’ve ever wanted from a thriller, but the book itself didn’t really deliver it for me. I think the story would’ve made much more sense in a movie rather than a book. 🤷🏻‍♀️

the characters were developed fine. I loved Jo as a character the best whilst the others I couldn’t really connect with that much. these terrorists also seemed a little obnoxious to me and not in a good way.

regarding the writing style, we keep jumping between POVs of Carrie, Bill, Theo and sometimes the airline tower building. it was great seeing from multiple points how the story unfolded, but even though it was action packed, I noticed myself getting easily distracted and I constantly wanted to put the book down and go on my phone lol. it didn’t grip me as much for some reason.

the plot also was a little strange. from this synopsis I thought they’d have much more sinister things going on and the terrorists more sophisticated and dangerous. not that these weren’t, but it felt like they were just simple citizens not knowing what the fuck they were actually doing and mad at the wrong people. and also why wasn’t the president more involved in the situation like this? it felt like he was brushed off the story when he had the most power when things like this happen. I did love the way Jo stayed strong for the passengers and worked for them though! overall, it was an okay story.
