Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle by Clare Hunter

adventurous informative inspiring reflective medium-paced

5.0

A great book from start to finish. I was consistently amazed by Hunter's depth of research, and loved how she was able to keep things personal and human while being so erudite. Several parts made me cry. Although I don't sew myself, this made me appreciate the needlework around me so much more, especially that of the women in my family. I think that anyone, whether knowledgeable in needlework or not, would benefit from reading this.

I listened to the audiobook, and thought it was a lovely touch to pick a narrator with a Scottish accent.
