A friend told me that this series gets good around Book 4. That certainly was the case for ACOTAR. I hated book 1, but the rest of them were all 5 stars.
I don’t know if I quite buy that Celaena is as good as she is. It’s rather creepy that both guys watch her sleep at several points. Nehemia is a good character - here’s hoping she gets some depth.
I do feel uncomfortable with Celaena having been in a so-called death camp at the start. It seems insensitive coming from this author to dive straight into issues touching colonial horrors.
