Pretend I'm Dead by Jen Beagin

3.0

I absolutely loved the beginning of this book, and I liked the end, the middle, though, almost lost me. I am glad I stuck with it and finished it though.

Mona is a housekeeper, with a unique view on the world, and absolutely no direction. After losing her boyfriend whom she met in a methadone clinic, she moves to Taos to start a new life. There she meets others that are adrift too.

I really liked Mona. Sometimes her thoughts and actions stressed me out. She is definitely a character that will stick with me, though. Aside from the move to Taos, there isn't a lot that happens in the book, it's more about her interactions with other people.

I have a feeling that this is one of those books that will stick with me well after I've been done with it, and the more that I'll think about it, the more I'll realize that I liked it. Those kinds of books are so cool.
