I know I'm not the first to say this, but this book is so important! This is a story that needed to be told, whether it was fictional or not. I am giving this the coveted 5-star rating not just because I'm generous (which...I probably am in some cases), but because I seriously and truly mean it. The characters in this book were like real people, their lives laid out for me on this silver platter of a mesmerizing journey. It was beautiful and devastating right up until the last chapter and that truly is my favorite way to experience a novel. Crying...laughing...shouting at the characters and making a fool of yourself.

Whether you're queer or not, this is a very important story to be read.
