I Am Not a Wolf by Daniel James Sheehan, Sage Coffey

5.0

This was HILARIOUS. I loved the pointed observations on American white male culture. It’s the kind of story you grin through in anticipation of what the next sentences will bring. Recommended for satire fans!

I haven’t gone back and listened to EVERY alternate route yet, but all of it so far is hysterical and cringey and fucking weird in the exact right ways. It also scratches a similar itch that podcasts do for me, because you can reliably pause at a decision point then come and go with the story as you please and you always know you have ten minutes of goodness to look forward to next time without having to commit hours of mental effort.

The audiobook narrator was BEYOND perfect. This has to be the best narrator casting in the history of the world. You have got to listen to it, even if you’re not usually an audiobook person, preferably with a friend, because it makes it that much funnier to be able to share in the experience! (Just probably not while driving alone because you need to be able to select the correct chapter to jump to when you make a decision.)

Lastly, it’s imperative that you know that this positive review was definitely not written by a Wolf. Wolves do not write reviews, so you shouldn’t even be suspicious obviously.
