I really wanted to like this. The concept was very interesting. I was deeply disappointed.
The suspension of disbelief that was required made my head ache. The characters were deeply unlikeable. Which isn't usually a problem for me. I really didn't care what happened to any of them. The fat shaming was somewhat unexpected after reading Lyra's perspective first. An overall unpleasant read/experience.
