The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt

5.0

I listened to this book which I’ve since found out is 800 pages (equating to 32 hours of listening!) and I feel as though I’ve just listened to a 32 hour long poem. The writing is so sumptuous. There is a lot of plot, a lot of description and a lot of heart.
There are themes of value, loss of innocence and beauty all spilling out of this page-turning tale. I highly recommend this book. I know it can be divisive, but it’s worth a shot, even if just for the delightful writing.
