Last Breath by Sally Rigby

4.0

An ice cold case looks like it might be getting really hot in Lenchester. Rigby's done it again with an intriguing addition to the series. This story pursues another unsub with an MO different from any we have encountered previously. The MO does seem familiar to some of the force though. Likewise, the friendship between Cavendish and Walker seems to be hearkening back to the earlier days of their relationship. Can they move past their personal issues to stop the killer? Perhaps the creepiest parts of this story are the peeks into the mind of the killer.

This is book 5 in the series but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone. The mystery is fully contained in this book and there is enough information given to jog the readers memory of previous events or to inform a new reader so they can follow the relationship side threads. It is a good balance and well done, no info dumps.
