Mad About Ewe by Susannah Nix
3.0
I'm so torn on what to say about this book. While I did enjoy it, I think that the synopsis is a little misleading. IMO the synopsis makes this book seem like a light and fluffy second chance romance between older MC's and it is all that, but also there were trigger warnings all over the place and it was extremely heavy. Without getting into too many spoilers, pretty quickly into this book the heroine finds out that she has cancer. While I am not typically triggered by cancer in books, this one felt a little jarring and I was not expecting it at all. As far as the rest of the book, it was enjoyable (but some plot points I did feel a little let down by in the end, especially Mike's mom); I love that both MC's were older, and being I sucker for a second chance romance I love that Dawn had a crush on Mike in high school. I love how Mike handled the cancer diagnosis once he found out and I really liked the knitting aspect of this book. I would say that it did have all of the things I love about romance in it, it was steamy, sweet and had some funny moments. I was a little worried going into this book because I kept hearing that it was set in the Pennyverse and unpopular opinion here, but I did not like the only book I've read by Penny Reid, but it turned out that it didn't really matter.
