Peril at End House by Agatha Christie

5.0

I like that all the clues you need for the reveal is put upfront in like chapter 3 and also that this is the craziest reveal I’ve ever read since Roger Ackroyd.

I guess I will never know how Agatha Christie’s brain worked.

But also I PARTIALLY GUESSED AN AGATHA CHRISTIE MYSTERY OH MY GOD.

And I’m going to talk about it because fuck it this is my account.

I guessed pretty early on that Nick and Maggie have the same name and I guessed that whoever the murderer is actually wants Maggie dead. I also thought that Nick made up stories AT FIRST because she’s a dramatic little bitch. BUT THEN! I thought that the murderer killed Maggie because they thought that Maggie was engaged to Michael Seton ONLY TO FIND OUT that it was Nick. So I thought the attempts on Nick’s life BEFORE Maggie’s death had been all made up but the box of chocolate attempt had been real because the murderer realized that it was not Maggie that Seton was engaged to but Nick.

…All that only to find out that I had been solving the murder BACKWARDS???

But anyways oh my GOD the ending is very satisfactory and insane I actually LAUGHED.
