I can't believe I've never read this before now, or watched the Disney adaptation. I knew there was something about a frog and a car, and I've been on the Disneyland ride, and that's about it. This book was so much more than I had expected, and I really wasn't expecting to give it 5 stars when I picked it up. It was sweet, charming, funny, and fully endearing. I read this slowly over the month, and by the end I really felt attached to these characters. Well, maybe except for toad, the absolute menace lol!

The natural settings really stood out to me, and the beautiful way they're described. And it opens in the springtime, so a perfect seasonal read. I feel very wistful thinking about this book, and I know it's one I'm going to pick up again.
