I did not like this book the way I loved Esme and Declan. Esme was soft with a strong side. She took no ones shit. This one, Raya, was a doormat. The definition of doormat is Raya. She allowed Mateo to treat her like garbage, not just in her personal life but in her professional life! It was absolutely ridiculous and made me so angry. I can't even stomach the shit he did to her, and she's like, ok. She's been in therapy for years for her childhood trauma, and yet, it didn't seem to help! Mateo is AWFUL! And there is no excuse for him being a complete and utter douchebag. Having trauma is not an excuse to treat people like crap, especially someone you claim to love. What he did to Raya was unacceptable! I'm glad he went to therapy to work through his crap, and that Raya got stronger, but there should have been a hell lot more groveling from Mateo. She just took him back like he did nothing wrong. That bothers me big time. Though it did end happily and Alice and Chloe got what was coming to them, it didn't make up for the rest of the book
