All the Lovers in the Night by Mieko Kawakami

emotional hopeful reflective sad slow-paced

3.5

this is one of those quiet, impressionistic books where there's very little plot to speak of, which means I won't remember very much about it, but I enjoyed reading it. the main character is a recluse, a proofreader in her mid-30s, trying to figure out how to be in the world. I have lots of this author's books on hold and wanted to start with one of the less-famous ones.
