When I first went into this book, I wasn't sure what to expect. I knew the premise was a marriage in trouble and that the male love interest kidnapped her so that they could work out their issues. While I understand why people really enjoyed this, I had a very average reading experience. For me and the romances that I enjoy, I really need to connect to the characters and see them working together to be with each other. I think because this story is so short, I wasn't really getting that. Both of the characters were very dominant, headstrong people and I don't mind this. My problem was when the female main character was being so defiant and didn't want to talk to her husband, but then she still just wanted to bend over for him to make herself satisfied. This happened repeatedly and when they finally did have the conversation that they needed to have, I found it very lack luster. I don't know what I was expecting but when the conflict was just them not talking to each other over something they both experienced, I just could not get into it.  I think it didn't work for me because once they had the conversation, the conflict was resolved and I just wanted a little bit more. I think those that just want a short, spicy read will like this book. It was fine, but not my favorite by this author. If you do pick up this book, I would definitely look up the content warnings.
