The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese

This was a simply gorgeous epic saga. It has been a big part of my life for the last two weeks. I have found myself buried in the story and characters for hours at a time. This is the kind of beautiful storytelling that you don’t want to end because you will miss its presence in your life. Verghese has once again written a brilliant novel. He weaves together a story of many generations with subtlety, grace, and power. He infuses the story with medical information that makes his style of fiction writing uniquely his own. I was a big fan of Cutting for Stone, and I think I loved The Covenant of Water even more. I give this a solid five stars.
