Quickly became a favorite, Bardugo exemplifies what a slow-burn should be, all while encapsulating that sometimes "monsters" are the most human in their intentions and that compassion and understanding are tools pertinent to survival. We survive alone, we endure and rise above and wish to be better through the bonds we forge with others. Leigh Bardugo created a world of characters that are complex and passionate, describing their world with words easily brand-able onto the souls of her readers.
