Women of Babylon: Gender and Representation in Mesopotamia by Zainab Bahrani

5.0

I skipped the first chapters on definition of terms and went straight to the content in situ. Fabulous book. This art historian seems to have brought to Near Eastern art a depth and sensitivity of treatment that the Classical world, with centuries of study advantage, has enjoyed; let's catch up. I must chase her other work.
