This book was fun, serious, fantastic, creative and it made me think. I was completely captured by the story of Kote the innkeeper and his loyal friend Bast before the entire thing refocused on Kvothe’s past. I genuinely like Kvothe so much, and the other characters are wonderful, too. I love that Kvothe’s school life is only part of his story, and that financial troubles are a major part if his life. I like the amount if mystery this book leaves is with in terms of which legends are true. And I love the abundance of little plotlines that each have their own resolution- it feels like a story that is composed of many smaller stories, each entertaining on its own.
Moderate: Grief
