A Study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle

wonderful beginning for THE detective and his boyfriend. it really is a great introduction, regardless of how iconic sherlock holmes (the stories and the character) really became later. i watched the bbc show (derogatory) as a teenager so it's been great to be reading the originals and watching watson having a personality and stuff to do and holmes being kind and humble and not the main focal point. i read the version that has the stuff about the mormons and as much as i understand why that part is sometimes left out it is incredibly funny. what did acd have against mormons???
