The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

5.0

We all know how I feel about Lord of the Rings at this point... There's not much point trying to leave a review, I'd just gush about how brilliant FotR is for far too long!

However, my annotation reread has been an absolute triumph! I have picked up on so many things I've missed before and I feel like I have a much stronger understanding of what Tolkien was doing with LotR. I've gained a greater appreciation for his world building and thematic work throughout this book alone - and most surprisingly of all, a new love for the songs he wove throughout the text to deepen the history and emotional weight of the world! It's astounding how much intricate detailing Tolkien put into his series that missed in my previous 8 reads (I think) and have only picked up on this time around!
