Emergent Strategy is a very interesting collection of all of adrienne maree brown's thoughts, notes, essays, poems, lists, etc. regarding the concept of emergent strategy, which is inspired by a lot of Octavia Butler's science fiction novels. I felt like this book was geared towards those in leadership positions or people who might want to create a bigger impact in their advocacy or even their workplace. I definitely got some really good strategies and perspectives for my own workplace as well as good things to check when choosing to support an activist group.
I wouldn't say that this is an easy book to read through linearly, instead it's something you might pick up when you need to find a solution or reassurance in regards to a particular issue that you're having in the context of groups/organizations/relationships.
I definitely enjoyed the sections on relationships and friendships as well as all the parts that I could apply to the workplace.
