Nikhil Out Loud by Maulik Pancholy

4.0

The cover design of the cute Nikhil will draw the attention of upper elementary / middle grade readers. But beyond the drawing, this novel brings to light how young humans deal with their identities and combat those that are vehemently against them. This is dealt in a way that most middle schoolers can understand & relate to - moving to a new environment, aging grandparents, making new friends & sprinkled with theater / voice acting. I wish we got a little more of the voice acting side & expanded some more on some side characters.
