This Must Be the Place by Maggie O'Farrell

4.0

Daniel, Claudette, Ari, Niall, Marithe.. all of them feel like part of my life now. Every character was well-written, honest, and very real, including the little side characters we only get a chapter about. Their struggles felt authentic. They feel like my friends now, and I won’t be forgetting them anytime soon.

The only reason this book doesn’t get 5 stars is because I felt like the time jumps/perspective changes were a bit confusing sometimes. However, it was only uncomfortable at the beginning of each switch, as i realized we were going back in time and/or switching to a different or even a new character, and i quickly became invested in each story. I felt very connected to every character introduced in this story and how they ultimately supported Daniel and Claudette’s story. Phenomenal book. This is my third book by Maggie O’Farrell, and I can’t wait to read more!
