Dead Reckoning by Charlaine Harris

I really enjoyed reading this one. I didn’t love it, but I still had a pretty good time. Usually I wouldn’t have made it this far into a series that A) is not really a ‘paranormal romance’ and was more a mystery series like this, and b) had main characters like sookie because most of the time I’m barely tolerating her. But I have really enjoyed it. Maybe it’s because they’re so easy to read? Maybe it’s because I loved the tv show so much that it added a layer to the characters for me to love when I read these or even just that I read it in high school and enjoyed it so now I’m remembering the good times and putting up with things I normally wouldn’t? I don’t know, but I enjoy the action, I enjoy just spending time with these characters even when they shit me.

I do have issues with the series, like the fact all these have happened in TWO YEARS, because I was picturing it way more drawn out than that in my head, mainly because if 11 books worth of drama and assasinations and plotting and torture happened to me, all in two years, I’d be outta there. Leave the country girl, or at least leave the state, how is she even mentally there after all this? Some books have numerous deaths and even three or four attempts at this girls life, like that’s trouble every few needs a break.
