The Portrait of a Mirror by A. Natasha Joukovsky

funny lighthearted medium-paced

3.75

Okay. I feel like I could’ve enjoyed this more if I had chosen to read it at a time when reading felt like less of a chore. Because I enjoyed the story. It felt like Gossip Girl meets Succession. And it felt smart and unapologetically adult. There were horribly unlivable side characters who said offensive things, but generally I felt like the main characters were a bit boring with the exception of Diana.

Overall, I think I’d enjoy this on a reread because all the tools were there for me to enjoy this book, I just picked it up at the wrong time. But still, a strong 3.75 stars.
