If you've been reading the series up to this book and haven't been enjoying it, it's definitely worth one more shot. This novel may change your opinion about the series.
I liked this one the best so far. The story was the most developed and flowed the best. Even though it takes place over a short amount of time, it was pleasantly detailed so that you could clearly picture everything that was happening through its entirety. Even though defeating Kalona was quite simple, the Casts definitely delivered this time.
But as with all the other books, I'm incredibly tired of Zoey's wavering heart. She really should pick a boyfriend and STAY with a single boyfriend. It wouldn't bother me if she were even to keep Heath as a familiar, as long as there are no strings attached on Zoey's part at least.
I was also satisfied with the fact that it left a very small cliffhanger: we don't know Stevie Rae's secrets about the red vampires. Subtle, but enough to encourage me to read the next installment.
