Reread the trilogy after initially reading them as a kid (?!). I sometimes found the writing style, especially of characters' extensive direct thoughts, a little jarring, and I think the pacing was perhaps a bit rushed toward the end. Also, while I respect this book's contribution to gay rep in fantasy, I'll just say I'm glad there's more to pick from now... All that aside, the plot is compelling, the aesthetics are great (

), and it was fun to revisit these books.
