Shattered Silk by Barbara Michaels

4.0

I enjoyed this second installment in this trilogy, for the most part. It really stands alone from Ammie, Come Home though there are nice little in-jokes and easter eggs for readers of the first book.

I did find the main character terribly depressing at first, though, she is, in fact, depressed. I could feel the age of this book at times, the manner of self depreciation inside. If you're a Elizabeth Peters/Barbara Micheals enthusiast, you should enjoy this, and people presumably did when it was published 30+ years ago, but it doesn't have the staying power other works of hers have.
