4.0
4.0 is the lowest I have rated any Ana Huang book (I also gave Twisted Hate 4 stars). I still loved Kai and Isabella, and I would read this book again, but King of Pride didn't hit me like King of Wrath and the other books in the Twisted Series did. I really liked Kai and honestly he's probably the most emotionally healthy of all the Huang MMCs that I have read so far. He might even be the most realistic, as is Isabella. Give me Kai Young, I'll marry an unproblematic king!
I think the reason I wasn't engrossed in King of Pride as I was with the other books is because there wasn't as much tension. We readers know that Kai will get the CEO position in the end. We know that because they have a forbidden romance, Isabella will be found out. I found the twists and turns to be more thrilling in the other books. Again, I still really liked this book and the main characters! But I had to pick a favorite Ana Huang book (which is hard because she is my favorite author), King of Pride wouldn't be it.
I think the reason I wasn't engrossed in King of Pride as I was with the other books is because there wasn't as much tension.
