I read Falling for Her (The Callahans #2) first, and when I saw that this series was about Drew & Fable’s kids, I also wanted to read this one, #1 in the series. And I was not disappointed! This book has more presence of Drew and Fable and it was great to see them in action with their four kids.

Autumn is the oldest of the Callahan kids, and like all of the oldest kids, she’s the rule follower, the goody-two shoes, the one that doesn’t want to ever disappoint her parents. She’s also a little bossy with her younger siblings. When Ash comes into her life, he takes her into a spin. A bad boy, always in trouble, up in mischief, a rule-breaker, he confused the heck out of her. Ash made her feel out of control, uneasy, and with feelings that she didn’t understand and was afraid of. So she took the easy way out, she ran from him and rejected all his advances.

Ash liked her from the get go, but the poor guy didn’t know how to deal with a good girl, so he was always messing things up. He was a little crude, which made her back off, in spite of being interested. It wasn’t until they were in their senior year that they got very close together, not because they wanted but because he came to live in her house. And then the gates opened and the action started!

The book was so entertaining because they totally behaved like teenagers. They were spiteful to each other, he made several snide comments about her parents wealth, called her a spoiled princess, while she called him gross and crude. Totally romantic, right? Eventually we get our HEA, but meanwhile we get an entertaining story with lots of intervention from Drew and Fable which is what I liked best in the book.

The ending felt a little rushed, maybe because I wanted more of their HEA and how they dealt with their University life, but it was a great story, with just the right amount of complications and angst.
