A powerful tale from the past. Kristin Hannah writes so beautifully that it isn't hard to put yourself right in the middle of the story, living the lives of her main characters.

This story, while weaving a tale of struggle and perseverance is also - at its very core - about love and family, and the strength that comes from being together. 

It's far from an easy read, but it is a beautiful one.
