Four Feet, Two Sandals by Khadra Mohammed, Karen Lynn Williams
Four Feet, Two Sandals is a story that takes place in a refugee camp. It is about two girls whom harbor a friendship because they notice they are each wearing a sandal from a matching pair. Lina and Feroza decide come up with a solution: they will take turns wearing the sandals. They then started to do everything in their daily life together. When one is to leave for America, they are unsure of what to do with the sandals. Again, they are left with four feet and two sandals.
This story is a beautiful story about a friendship that is harbored in a very difficult time at a very difficult place. It is important for students to see that everyone needs a friend.
