Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

5.0

Easily the best book I've read this year so far. Taylor Jenkins Reed masterfully captures the essence of 1970s rock-and-roll culture in a way that is both so nostalgic and yet so fresh.
What sets this novel apart is its unique format, being the story told entirely through interviews with the band members, their friends, and their colleagues. This gives the book a sense of immediacy and most of all intimacy that is rare to find in fiction.
What I thought really made "Daisy Jones & The Six" stand out is the depth and complexity of its characters. Each member of the band feels like a fully-realized human being, with their own dreams, fears, and flaws.
It's a book that will stay with you long after you've finished reading it. Five stars, no question.
