Literary Criticism and the Gospels: The Theoretical Challenge by Stephen D. Moore

Unless you are versed in literary critical methods, terminology and philosophy, you will find this a challenging and hard going read. The writer assumes that the reader has more than a basic level of understanding, background and awareness of the different types of criticism within this area and uses the vocabulary as standard. Whilst he demonstrates a light touch, often self deprecating and even whimsical, it is still a difficult read for a beginner. However it is an excellent overview with a good bibliography and helpful glossary.
