The Hour of the Star by Clarice Lispector

dark funny lighthearted

4.75

I don't quite know how to rate this because quite frankly, I hated this. And yet, -

Amusing at times, but also deeply bleak. There is a strange kindness in the writing though, which all in all makes for something of an emotional reading experience. Many open ended questions on consciousness. I’m open and floating about now because of it.

I'm surprised to feel such a liking toward it by the end -
I suppose it just is itself so well.

Strangely, and like I said, surprisingly, I  might just come back to this one!
