this stirred something deep into the depths of my soul. i felt a sense of community being reignited as a listened to this. not only was the storytelling highly engaging when Orlean was laying out the groundwork for the mystery of the LA library fire, but she continued to keep me engaged as she went into the history of libraries and how they currently work. I was ENTHRALLED. i learned so much. i already have a deep appreciation for libraries and i have spent my life enjoying them, but this gave me a deeper understanding of how they came to be. obsessed.
